The Pinecrest Nordic Ski Patrol and Stanislaus National Forest offer programs to help you learn about the forest and winter environment. The Winter Backcountry Awareness Seminar conducted by the Ski Patrol will provide you with basic knowledge of how to travel in the winter backcountry, while the Forest Service's Winter Adventures program takes you on a tour of the trails with a focus on the forest environment.
