Maintenance of Skis

Uses:

Maintaining skis will help you to perform at your peak.

Tip:

  1. Wax skis every couple of weekends during ski season, as needed.
  2. Have a professional ski technician tune your skis, as needed.
  3. Switch skis from left to right to distribute wear evenly, unless skis are specifically designed for each foot.
  4. Apply liquid wax, paste wax or cake wax to the bottom of your skis. This will coat them as you ski.
  5. Check skis if they feel unstable, the edges don't work on hard snow, or if skis hook, catch or grab.
  6. Seal bases of skis with storage wax at the end of every season, to keep them from oxidizing and rusting. Scrape wax off before skiing the following winter.

Warning:

Skiing is an inherently dangerous activity that can result in serious injury. We recommend that you seek proper training and equipment before attempting this activity.
